Parabita: where it is
B&B “Altrov’è” is located in Parabita (province of Lecce), town of around 10.000 inhabitants, situated in a particularly happy position in the heart of Salento. It was built on the hill of Sant’Eleuterio and measure in the tallest point 195 meters on the level of the sea. Parabita is surrounded by secular olive-trees, typical dry rural constructions (furneddhri), red fields descending toward the sea. Parabita offers memory and testimonies going up to different historical epochs: architectural beauty, popular traditions, good food, good wine. The happy geographical position of Parabita allows, besides, to reach other places easly of the Salento:
- Lecce, county town, with his superb expressions of the Baroque;
- the most known beach and cities of the ionic slope (Porto Selvaggio, Gallipoli, Torre San Giovanni, Torre Vado, Torre San Gregorio) and Adriatico (Torre dell’Orso, Sant’Andrea, Otranto, Porto Badisco, Santa Cesarea Terme, Castro, Santa Maria di Leuca);
- the hinterland is interesting as regards the Salento aspect (history, architecture, art, wine and food, the realization of theatrical and musical events).
